چکیده
This study aimed to reveal the interface behavior of iron-based shape memory alloy (Fe-SMA) strips bonded metallic substrates in order ensure integrity such joints. A series single lap-shear tests was performed on Fe-SMA-to-steel adhesively The test results that bond strength can reach over 70% tensile Fe-SMA and cohesive failure mode be realized. It is identified three energy dissipation mechanisms occurred during debonding process, indicating experimentally obtained bond-slip relations represent more than by adhesive.

Effects of Reinforcement Geometry on Strength and Stiffness in Adhesively Bonded Steel-Timber Flexural Beams
A finite element model is developed to analyse, as a function of volume fraction, the effects of reinforcement geometry and arrangement within a timber beam. The model is directly validated against experimental equivalents and found to never be mismatched by more than 8% in respect to yield strength predictions. Yield strength increases linearly as a function of increasing reinforcement volume ...
متن کاملPlastically-deforming, Adhesively-bonded Structures: I Experimental Studies
Rate effects for adhesively-bonded joints in steel sheets failing by mode-I fracture and plastic deformation were examined. Three types of test geometries were used to provide a range of crack velocities between 0.1 mm/s and 5000 mm/s: a DCB geometry under displacement control, a wedge geometry under displacement control, and a wedge geometry loaded under impact conditions. Two fracture modes w...
متن کاملDisbond detection in adhesively bonded composite structures using vibration signatures
This paper presents a structural health monitoring technique based on analysis of the dynamic signature of the structure, which changes as damage occurs, due to alterations in structural properties such as stiffness and damping. Experiments performed on plate specimens and T-joint specimens which had various degrees of damage in the form of delaminations showed that it is possible to quantify t...
متن کاملComputational Models of Adhesively Bonded Joints
Simulations using the Finite Element Method (FEM) play an increasingly important role in the design process of joints and fasteners in the aerospace industry. In order to utilize the potential of such adhesive bonding, there is an increasing need for effective and accurate computational methods. The geometry and the nature of an adhesive joint are, however, not so simple to describe effectively...
متن کاملDesign Analysis of Adhesively Bonded Structures
The existing analytical solutions for the peeling and shearing stresses in polymeric adhesively bonded structures are either too inaccurate or too complex for adoption by practicing engineers. This manuscript presents a closed-form solution that is reasonably accurate yet simple and concise enough to be adopted by practicing engineers for design analysis and exploration. Analysis of these conci...
